Enjoying God - Sundays @ 10:30am

Core Values

The Bible, and Bible preaching and teaching

All Scripture is God's word; it is God’s revelation to mankind.  The Bible is just as true, reliable and relevant for today as it was when it was written. At ECF a central place is given to preaching and teaching the Bible in our meetings. (2 Timothy 3:16; Acts 2:42; 2 Timothy 4:2)

Fellowship with God and with one another

We value the presence of God amongst us. God does not make his home on earth in buildings but in His people. The church is not a building, but is made up of God's people coming together to fellowship with Him. Every member is important and the church works best when everyone is involved, actively taking part and doing what they have been made for. We worship, work and enjoy being together.  Jesus taught us to 'love one another', so we seek to care for all people and do them good. We want to serve and honour each other. ( Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:25; John 13:34)

Prayer

Prayer is fundamental to Christian life. We encourage members to pray on their own and in small groups and to join together in the church prayer meeting.  We sometimes encourage prayer and fasting so that we can seek God together because we want to be led by the Spirit of God. (Acts 2:42; 13:1-3; Colossians 4:2)

Loving God and worshiping him in word and action

God is seeking people who will worship him 'in spirit and in truth'. An important aspect of our meeting together, whether as a whole church or in small groups, is to love God from our hearts in worship and praise and prayer. In our meetings, we give opportunity for individuals to express themselves to God and for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to operate.  We believe that our lives should glorify God both within the church setting and also in our family, work and social settings. (John 4:23-24; Colossians 3:17; Ephesians 5:19-20)

Not being selfish with the wonderful things that God has shown us, but sharing the news with others

Jesus told us to 'Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations'. We seek to be 'salt and light' to our friends, relatives, work colleagues and the local community. Many of our members have also been on short or long term missions abroad. (Mat 28:19; Acts 1:8)
